dexterKansas City, Sep 14, (THAINDIAN NEWS) On Monday night, Kansas City Chiefs’ wide receiver Dexter McCluster and running back Jamaal Charles brought smiles to the face of all those fans of the team who braved the rains to witness the opening game of San Diego Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs. Dexter McCluster not only led his team to win the game but also set a new club record with his 94-yard punt return. The Kansas City Chiefs won over the San Diego Chargers by 21-14.

Refusing to be let down by the beating rain that soaked the players for most of the game, Kansas City Chiefs’ Jamaal Charles was the first to score with a 56-yard touchdown run. The run added 7 points to Kansas City Chiefs and equated their scores with that of the San Diego Chargers. It was in the second quarter of the game that running back Dexter McCluster came forward with that amazing 94-yards punt return which left the whole stadium cheering with joy and excitement. The run broke the previous record set by Dante Hall back in Oct 5, 2003 against Denver Broncos. It was Dexter McCluster’s brilliant punt return that provided the team a 21-7 lead over the San Diego Chargers at the end of the first half of the game.

Although Dexter McCluster is listed as a wide receiver, there is no denying the fact that he can very well manage the position of a running back. Dexter McCluster who formerly belonged to Mississippi Runnin Rebels, was Kansas City Chief’s No.36 overall draft pick from the second round draft pick in 2010 NFL Draft. Some analysts at that time had predicted befittingly that Dexter McCluster was going to prove beneficial for the team.
