lyellJan 30, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The 24 year son of Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., made his daddy proud, as he won the over world title contender, Billy Lyell, on Saturday night at the Estadio Banorte in Mexico. However, the fight was quite tough, and it took the winner 10 rounds to defeat the ace champion. The competition was so sharp, that by the end of the game, Billy Lyell, earned more respect than ever, although he technically lost the game to the young and vibrant Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

However, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. made more than 12,000 people sitting in the stadium even more hopeful about him, as he marked his victory in his own hometown Culiacan in Mexico. The champion won with an unanimous score of 98-92, 99-92, and, 96-94, respectively, to elate his standing at 42-0-1 and 30 knockouts, in his career. The fight was however not that mild. Billy Lyell tried his best to defend himself with several clean right hands and left hooks. He even injured himself in his left eye, for which he had to undergo treatment by a ringside doctor, to interrupt the bout. Although he tried his best, by the time, the match was about to complete he got a bit fatigued and apparently tired, that led to his defeat. With the conclusion of the match, Billy Lyell’s score has gone down to 22-9 and 4 knockouts.

With his victory, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr is all set to face his next challenge against none other than the German 160 pounds middleweight, Sebastian Zbik. The latter stands at a position of 30-0, with 10 knock outs. The two are expected to clash somewhere in May for the WBC title.
