Whistler, British Columbia, Feb 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) It seems that Julia Mancuso has got a fitting match for her much hyped tiara. The lady bagged the second spot in women’s Olympic downhill on Wednesday. The gold medal went to her teammate Lindsey Vonn. However, she was not mourning her loss to her teammate as such. The way she was parading at the bottom of the hill with the tiara upon her head, she did not look sad. She finished almost after a minute than Lindsey Vonn.
At the beginning of the event Julia Mancuso held the lead and many thought she will win. However, Lindsey Vonn raced past all others and before long Julia Mancuso could feel that winning the top spot could be hard for her. Finally, Lindsay Vonn zoomed past her, getting the gold medal in return. In fact, Lindsay Vonn was skiing well despite her shin injury. However, this does not mean that Julia Mancuso performed badly in Wednesday’s race. She took a lead after crossing past others from her 10th position. Those who watched the two racing past others said that Lindsay Vonn displayed an amazing skiing style without losing her balance even for a second.
When Lindsay Vonn crossed past the finish line she turned her head to see her name flashing as the winner. When they were spotted together by the camera one could sense a feeling of disappointment on the face of Julia Mancuso. To the contrary, Lindsay Vonn appeared to be jovial. However, they exchanged pleasantries later during the news conference.
