Sep 27 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Josh Hamilton has had quite a battle with drugs and alcohol, but had recently found “help in his time of trouble”. After his career was almost ruined by his drug and alcohol abuse, the Texas Ranger chose to avoid the champagne showers and beer sprays that accompanies the locker room victory celebrations which was taking place on Saturday.

Despite the fact that the Rangers was partying in response to winning the Western Division title for the first time in over ten years, Hamilton chose to skip the after party and went to a nearby church to speak instead.

“So it would be kind of hypocritical of me to come in here and douse myself with alcohol and smoke cigars and then go out there and talk about Jesus,” Hamilton stated to the ‘Dallas Morning News’, adding, “It’s not for me. I’m not saying that I wouldn’t have liked to have been in here with them. I just felt like it was in my best interest if I didn’t participate. But it’s amazing that it just so happened to work out that we clinched the same day they are having Faith Day and I’m speaking out there.”
