joshPhoenix, July 12, (THAINDIAN NEWS) As per media sources, Atlanta Hawks’ Josh Childress has been traded to the Phoenix Suns on Friday in a sign-and-trade deal between the two teams. According to the sign-and-trade deal, the Phoenix Suns will be trading their second-round draft pick in 2012.

Josh Childress will be getting around $33 million for his five year contract with the new team. Apart from Josh Childress another player who has been acquired by the Phoenix Suns this Friday is Hedo Turkoglu. The Phoenix Suns will be trading their guard Leandro Barbosa to the Toronto team to acquire Hedo Turkoglu.

There is no doubt about the fact that Hedo Turkoglu and Josh Childress will prove to be a worthy inclusion to the team which has lost Amare Stoudemire during the NBA Free Agency period. Both the players have impressive career records which will help the new team to get back to action this season.

Josh Childress has been with the Atlanta Hawks for the past four years and during this period he had managed an average of 11.1 points. 52% of his total shooting comes from the field while 36% from the 3-pointer range which no doubt benefit the attack of Phoenix Suns. Josh Childress has emerged during his play with the Atlanta Hawks as a quality defender who had been crucial to the team’s success.

As per report, Hedo Turkoglu had wanted to leave the Toronto Raptors after only one season play with the team and therefore the present move will undoubtedly solve his problem. On the part of Phoenix Suns, while they are getting Josh Childress in lieu of a second-round unknown draft pick in 2012, Leandro Barbosa who had been with the Phoenix Suns for the past seven years recorded the least per-game point last season.
