Matt HammillDec. 06, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Jon Jones was disqualified from playing further in the game that was held on Saturday. As a result, his opponent, Matt Hammill, was declared the winner by default in the 10th season of “The Ultimate Fighter” finale, even though he could not continue fighting against Jon Jones on account of the heavy injuries. Instant replay was used by the referee of the match Steve Mazzagatti, in order to help him give the official verdict on the terminated match.

During the match, Jon Jones got rather carried away and floored his opponent, Matt Hammill. He then proceeded to rain blows and punches on the fighter, something that left Matt Hammill with a lot of bruises. He received a deep gash on the bridge of his nose, and blood flowed into his eyes. He was absolutely battered at the end of it, and commented later that he had suffered a shoulder dislocation as he tried to wriggle out of the other’s iron grasp. A point was deducted from Jon Jones’ account, but the match could not be continued as Matt Hammill complained of a shoulder dislocation. The match was ended there and the referee declared Matt Hammill the winner.

This has been the only loss in the career of Jon Jones, better known by his nickname “Bones.” What was surprising in the whole matter was that Jon Jones was really calm and accepted his defeat, taking it in his stride. He seemed to believe, as he said, that like everything else, there has to be a reason for his loss.
