1495-07-11-19-garlandThe former Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Jon Garland who recently got drafted to Dodgers is finding it rather difficult to start on his new team challenging his own old team.In that regard he stated “there’s going to be some shock there.” The drafting took place just this Monday, so naturally getting on with new team loyalties is going to take some time.

Dodger’s manager Joe Torre was cognizant of the emotional turmoil that would come into foreplay when Garland would charge against the Diamondbacks, but just for emotional repercussions Garland could not delay his Dodgers debut to Friday facing Padres.

Garland is to play this postseason along with Chicago White Sox slugger Jim Thome, who was also drafted to the Dodgers team.

General manager Ned Colleti told sources that he had attempted to sign up Garland the previous winter as a free agent but had opted for Randy Wolf instead.

Garland (8-11, 4.29 ERA), raised in L.A., was excited to play for Dodgers but did not hesitate to state that he needed to keep his feelings in check. Garland is expected to replace knuckleball specialist Charlie Haeger in the Dodgers.

Garland told sources nostalgically that since he had been to wars with his initial team for the five months, so the experience would tell on him. It would be really different, he said. Experts though are saying that given the fact, Garland has been thorough professional throughout his career, he would settle down well with time in his new team.
