Aug 8, (THAINDIAN NEWS) On Saturday night, it seemed that Jon Fitch was in no mood to allow his opponent Thiago Alves to get an upper hand over him. He put to use his wrestling skills to tire Thiago Alves towards the beginning of the game and in the rest of the game, it was all in the hands of the former. Jon Fitch won over Thiago Alves with the unanimous decision going on his favor.

From the very beginning of the first round, Jon Fitch came forward with some amazing moves. The first round bout turned out to be an action-packed one with Jon Fitch going for early takedowns. Although Thiago Alves was able to abort one takedown attempt by Jon Fitch and reversed his position, the wrestler was able to control the moves of Thiago Alves for most of the round. In the second round, Jon Fitch continued to display his wrestling skills and had an early takedown on Thiago Alves who was seen struggling to fight off Jon Fitch. Towards the end of the second round Thiago Alves came forward with some offense but it failed to make any impact on the score card.

In the third round of the game, Thiago Alves showed some energy and tackled well the takedown and landing strikes of Jon Fitch. However, once again he seemed to be lacking energy and towards the middle of the third round Jon Fitch once again was leading with Thiago Alves entangled in a body triangle. Until the final minute Jon Fitch continued to beat Thiago Alves who tried a futile offense in vain. The win of Jon Fitch has provided him with a shot at the welterweight title.
