Johnson enjoying stint as first-change bowler in Oz World Cup campaign
February 27th, 2011 - 4:39 pm ICT by ANIChennai, Feb 27(ANI): Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson has said his coming in as first change bowler in his team’s World Cup attack allows him to settle down and execute his plans perfectly.
Johnson has opened Australia’s World Cup campaign with 4-19 against Zimbabwe in Ahmedabad and 4-33 against New Zealand in Nagpur.
“In the first game [against Zimbabwe no wickets had fallen] when I came on, so to be able to get the [second] breakthrough in that situation was pretty exciting for me,” the Age quoted Johnson, as saying.
“In the role that I’ve got as a first-change bowler, it’s something I always enjoy. I’m not so worried about my economy rate. I don’t think about that when I’m out there.”
“I’m just trying to bowl the best ball that I can as many times as I can, and bowl to the fields that I’ve got. It’s working for me at the moment so I need to keep working on it in all the training sessions that I have,” he added. (ANI)
