Dec.19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) In a latest development, Joe McKnight, the USC tailback has come under the scanner after he was found driving a SUV that belongs to a regional businessman. If the allegation is found true, the player will be guilty of violating NCAA rules. The player has not spoken officially on the matter so far and even after the practice of Friday he did not give any interview. Pete Carroll, the USC coach said that he had heard about the incident. However, he denied knowing the details about it.

When the coach was asked if the allegation could jeopardize Joe McKnight’s chances of playing in the Emerald Bowl next week he said that it could not be ascertained. According to the allegation, Joe McKnight drove the SUV belonging to a Santa Monica businessman. The car is a 2006 edition Land Rover- in good conditions. The player was seen in the car several times in recent days.

Last month Joe McKnight brought his girlfriend in the car to the practice facility of USC. As per the USC rules, the athletes are supposed to give written documents for the cars they drive on its campus. The player has not done that so far. The businessman who’s car has come in the center of the controversy is in South Africa now. His wife has not been able to clarify the relation the player has with her spouse. She said that her husband is involved in lots of things and she is not aware of each of them. When the businessman gets back next week he is likely to be interrogated.
