JK Tyre Junior Cup: Mohit Aryan makes clean sweep

Chennai, April 16 (IANS) Mohit M. Aryan of Wallace Sports achieved a clean sweep of the three races in the first round of the sixth J.K. Tyre Junior Cup formula racing series here Saturday.

The 20-year old from Chennai, returning to the series after a three-season break, survived a close challenge to win handily.

Reflecting on his hat-trick of wins, Mohit said: “I am really delighted with my start to the season. The competition was tough amongst the top four at all times and I somehow managed to keep them at bay.

“This is a tremendous boost to my confidence and now I am eagerly looking forward to do my best in the next three rounds.”

Race 1 (8 laps): Mohit M Aryan (Wallace Sports) 1 (10mins, 26.068secs); Chetan Korada (Wallace Sports) 2 (10:26.028); Naveen Anbarasu (Wallace Sports) 3 (10:31.232).

Race 2: Mohit M Aryan 1 (10:22.586); Varun Nathwani (Wallace Sports) 2 (10:26.583); Alisha Abdulla (Rams Racing) 3 (10:31.180).

Race 3: Mohit M Aryan 1 (10:19.076); Naveen Anbarasu 2 (10:23.479); Chetan Korada 3 (10:23.749).
