JK Racing Asia series finale moved to Sepang
November 11th, 2011 - 9:14 pm ICT by IANSChennai, Nov 11 (IANS) The final round of the JK Racing Asia Series will be held at the Sepang International Circuit December 1-3 after the venue was shifted from Buddh International Circuit that was closed for “maintenance”.
“We are very disappointed that we are unable to hold the final event of the JK Racing Asia Series at the Buddh International Circuit.
“Following the success of the recent Formula 1 event, the drivers and teams were definitely looking forward to returning to this new and exciting circuit. We will now have to wait for next season,” said David Sonenscher, CEO of Motorsport Asia Ltd, in a press release.
“The joint staging of the JK Racing Asia Series and JK Tyre National Racing Championship at the Buddh International Circuit would have provided an opportunity for domestic drivers to catch the eye of talent scouts of the international series.
“It is a bit disappointing, but then the show must go on and we have started work on the alternate arrangements,” said Sanjay Sharma, Head, Corporate Communications and Motorsport, JK Tyre and Industries Limited.
The final round of the JK Tyre National Racing Championship will now be moved to Chennai and will be run on November 26-27.
