Kolkata, Feb 1 (IANS) Notwithstanding the recent 0-5 humiliation in Australia, India’s women’s cricket World Cup skipper Jhulan Goswami Sunday said she was confident of her team putting up a good performance in the mega event Down Under March 7-22.Jhulan felt that India has the potential to reach the final if the cricketers come up with a consistent display.

“It’s a big responsibility and we will give our best. We have to be consistent if we want to go the distance. We will do well and at least be in the final,” said the lanky Bengal bowler.

Terming the defeat in Australia as an eye-opener, she said: “After that, we had a good camp at NCA last week with inputs from the likes of Dave Whatmore. So, this time I’m confident of a good show.”

Jhulan said she would be leaving for Ahmedabad Monday to play for Bengal.

She also has plans to take tips from statemate Sourav Ganguly - who led the Indian men’s team to the World Cup final in 2003 in South Africa. “After returning, I would like to meet and get tips from Sourav.”
