Dec 14, (THAINDIAN NEWS) No one is unaware of the notorious act by Sal Alosi, the strength and conditioning coach of New York Jets. He tripped Miami Dolphin’s corner back, Nolan Carroll, while he was trying to cover a punt on Sunday. Although the coach confessed his crime, that could not rescue him from the consequences.
Even yesterday, the authorities of the Jets and NFL said that they would do the required, in order to punish the coach for his unsporting and unacceptable act. Today, it was his turn to face the consequences. Sal Alosi has been suspended as one of the Jets’ coach for the remainder of the season. Apart from the suspension, he also had to pay a fine of $25,000. Although the fine is larger than his salary, many sources feel that he has been treated just the way he deserves. Even the supporters of New York Jets are under the impression that, the consequences that he faced was absolutely perfect for the mistake he committed. They feel that Sal Alosi is a disgrace for the team. Other critics have mocked the entire team and said that New York Jets have been bugged by numerous problems all through out the season. Even in their match against the Dolphins, they came out as the loser. At least the coach could have behaved himself, in order to save the team from another undesired embarrassment.
General Manager Mike Tannenbaum said that they would like to take the full responsibility of the mishap and would not like any further discipline from the N.F.L. He also felt that suspension of the coach was the appropriate action to take. Sal Alosi was the first coach in the history of the league, to draw a national attention for the wrong reason.
