Jessica Watson Returns To Australia After Completion Of Sailing Across World

Sydney, May 15, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Jessica Watson, the Teenage solo sailor who sailed around the world for duration of 210 days has returned to her homeland Australia. The resident of Queensland returned to Sydney harbor on Saturday to see the residents waiting for her. She set a record for the youngest human to sail around the world on her own. Her mother Julie Watson was visibly emotional when she saw her daughter coming back after such a long waiting. She cried with pleasure and said that her daughter had kept her word. The crowd that was waiting at the harbor also welcomed her as she ended her 38000 km journey.
The 16 year old girl, Jessica Watson has some gust for sure. She completed her mission without anyone assisting her. The critics earlier said that the voyage was too dangerous for someone so young. When her yacht Ella’s Pink Lady was see the crowd became jubilant and they started shouting, wishing her a warm welcome back home. Kevin Rudd, the Australian Prime Minister was also there. A lot of her countrymen also watched her coming back live on the television. The PM was full of praise for her and said she is a hero in the proper sense of the word.
Jessica Watson is going to step into her 17th birthday shortly and this achievement is going to make this birthday unique for her. The PM also said that she had done the nation proud with her achievement. She was given a gift of free driving lesson by the PM. She however, sounded humble and said that she was a simple girl.
