jj1July 12, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The American civil rights activist and Baptist minister Jesse Jackson has criticized yesterday Cleveland Cavaliers’ owner Dan Gilbert’s open letter where he rebuked LeBron James by labeling him to be disloyal and a coward. The civil rights activist was disappointed at Dan Gilbert’s comment and said that the latter spoke in a fashion as if he owned LeBron James. Jesse James said that Dan Gilbert’s comments showed as if LeBron James was a “runaway slave”.

The Baptist minister commented that Dan Gilbert spoke as an owner of LeBron James and not the owner of Cleveland Cavaliers. He also added that Dan Gilbert’s comments showed that the latter’s feelings of betrayal personified a slave-master mentality. However, the press has not yet found Dan Gilbert’s comments about this criticism. Jesse Jackson at last said that Dan Gilbert’s accusations endanger LeBron James which led to the player’s jersey being burned and also he was being “projected as a betrayer” by the “owner” by which Jesse Jackson meant that LeBron James was not a child and like everyone else, he had the right to take his own decision and he was not bound to play on Dan Gilbert’s plantation and be “demeaned”.

However, the comment of James Jackson is accepted by few while the Cleveland Cavaliers’ fans condemned the statement. Jesse Jackson said that it was an owner employee relationship between business partners and LeBron James honored his contract. The incident that triggered this criticism was when LeBron James announced on Thursday that he will shift to Miami Heat for the next season, Dan Gilbert, the owner wrote an open letter on their website where he rebuked the NBA player and accused him on various grounds.
