Dec. 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Jerryd Bayless finally seems to be at the peak form of his career. After almost a year that he had been drafted by the Portland Blazers, he managed to score the highest points so far, and put in a spectacular game to boot. The guard of the Portland Blazers performed in a way against the Phoenix Suns in the match that was held on Thursday, Dec. 17 at the Rose Garden that was evidently greatly required by the team, as may be gathered from the team’s performance in the last few matches.
Jerryd Bayless scored 20 points in the match, the highest in not only his career, but also in the game against the Phoenix Suns. He was off to a great start. Unfortunately, it did not persist, and by the second quarter into the game, he had made two turnovers. It was expected by most that his bout of an energetic performance was over, and that he would be sent back to the pavilion. However, he was not, and it proved to be a good decision on the part of the coach.
Along with his 29 points, Jerryd Bayless managed to make three free throws with the last 9 seconds remaining in the game, leading the Portland Blazers to their much needed second victory in a row, after they had lost six matches before that. The coach of the team, Nate McMillan, was obviously left overwhelmed by the player’s unexpectedly good performance. He commented that the game that Jerryd Blazer put up against the Phoenix Suns only goes on to prove that given the opportunity to play, he can make the most out of it.
