Jeff DempsJan. 02, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Florida Gators running back- Jeff Demps had to leave the game at the end of the first quarter due to an arm injury. The loss of one of the key players in the game obviously came as a huge setback to the team, particularly with just about seven seconds left in the first quarter. Thankfully, the first quarter ended well for the Florida Gators despite them having lost a player. Tim Tebow managed to make a seven yard pass to the wide receiver of the team, Aaron Hernandez.

Jeff Demps received the injury in the left end, sometime at the end of the first quarter. It was during a three yard loss, in a first and goal, when he attempted to take a hand-off. As he was about to fall, he extended his right arm to break the fall. However, it did not work, and he fell with his whole weight on his arm. He was taken off the field immediately. An X-ray showed that he had dislocated his elbow.

A little while late, Jeff Demps returned, but only to stand near the bench. However, some time later, he was taken into the locker room of the Florida Gators. It was noted that his left arm was in a sling. Before he received his injury, he had run seven rushing yards, that too on three carries. The Florida Gators team replaced Jeff Demps with Emmanuel Moody. In fact, the Sugar Bowl game for the team was rife with injuries, with Carl Johnson, the offensive lineman for the Florida Gators, also suffering an injury in his right shoulder sometime in the second quarter.
