Jeev shoots 70, Kapur 71 in Dubai

Dubai, Feb 10 (IANS) India’s Jeev Milkha Singh had a modest start at two-under 70 putting him tied 19th, but that was still better than Tiger Woods (71) in tied 27th place after the first round of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic Golf Thursday.Jeev had four birdies on the back nine to bring home a two-under 70. He had a total of five birdies and three bogeys.
Shiv Kapur the only other Indian shot a one-under 71 and was tied 27th.
The leader was Rory McIlroy who shot a opening round of 65. He was two shots ahead of Sergio Garcia.
Lee Westwood and Martin Kaymer, the World No.1 and 2, shot identical 69 each.
