Adare Manor (Ireland), May 19 (IANS) Indian golfer Jeev Milkha Singh’s slide continued as he shot a two-over 74 in the final round to finish tied 40th in the European Tour’s Adare Manor Irish Open. The Chandigarh-based golfer, who was Asian Tour No. 1 in 2006, returned with rounds of 66, 76, 75 and 74 during the week for a total of three over 291.
In the final round Sunday at the Adare Manor Golf Resort, Jeev had a horrendous start with three bogeys in the first seven holes. His first birdie of the day took some time in coming on the eighth. But he dropped another shot on 13th, which was his worst hole in the week. He did close with a birdie on 18th, but that was a minor consolation for Jeev, who started the week by sharing the lead after first round.
Jeev dropped one place fell from 13th to 14th on the European Order of Merit.
Englishman Richard Finch emerged winner by two shots at 10-under 278. He had a final hole bogey as he himself fell into the water as he lost balance playing his third shot and splashed into the water.
Finch’s ten under par 278 aggregate saw him finish two clear of Aguilar (70) and three ahead of leading Irishman Gary Murphy (69), as well as Robert Karlsson (71), Maarten Lafeber (67) and Lee Westwood (72).
Bradley Dredge, Finch’s playing companion and the overnight leader, dropped three shots in his first three holes and ended with a 76 and slipped to tied eighth.
