Los Angeles, Apr 30, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Jeannie Buss seems to have a very good idea about Phil Jackson’s career. Or at least, part of the career. She should know. For she is not only the vice president of the Los Angles Lakers, the team that is coached by Phil Jackson, she is also the long time significant other of the coach. Recently, at a game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Oklahoma City Thunder, for which she accompanied Phil Jackson to the Staples Center in Los Angeles, the hint that the coach would not be returning to train the team next season peeped through. However, Phil Jackson has not commented on the matter so far.
Since it is Phil Jackson’s final year in the contract with the Lakers, it was being speculated that he would be coming back with a renewed contract next year. However, Jeannie Buss said that it is possible that Phil Jackson would not be returning to coach the Los Angeles Lakers in 2011. Which means that this year is likely to be the last time that he coaches the team. However, Jeannie Buss also asserted that even if Phil Jackson does not return to the Los Angeles Lakers the next year, it does not mean that he would be returning to coaching at all.
As proof of her theory, Jeanie Buss said that Phil Jackson would simply have to return to coaching as he would get too bored with a life of inaction, watching the game progress from the sidelines. Although she did not say where he would be coaching if he does not return to Los Angeles, she seemed pretty confident that there would be quite a number of good jobs.
