JCT knocks out defending champions Churchill, enter final
November 3rd, 2010 - 10:17 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Nov 3 (IANS) JCT Phagwara knocked out defending champions Churchill Brothers 1-0 to book a place in the finals of the Durand Cup football here Wednesday.
Amandeep Singh of JCT produced a goal in extra-time (101th min) in the first semi-final at the Ambedkar Stadium and sealed the tie for the Punjab club.
JCT emerged the better side than the fancied Churchill outfit, home to stars like Odafe Okolie.
East Bengal play Chirag United in the second semi-final Thursday.
The final of the 123rd edition of Durand Cup will be played Nov 7.
