Japanese under-22 international joins Stuttgart
December 24th, 2011 - 4:17 pm ICT by IANSNiigata (Japan), Dec 24 (IANS) Japan under-22 defender Gotoku Sakai will join German Bundesliga side Stuttgart on loan until the end of June 2013, his club Albirex Niigata has said.
Sakai, 20, will join countryman Shinji Okazaki at Stuttgart. The full-back, son of a Japanese father and a German mother, is known for his attacking ability, reports Xinhua.
During the 2010 World Cup, Sakai travelled to South Africa for the purpose of gaining experience by training with the senior national team.
He scored one goal in 25 matches in the J-League first division this past season.
