Jailed Plaxico Burress Expresses Apology To New York Giants In CBS Interview

palaxoFeb 8, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Former NFL player Plaxico Burress, who is presently serving a jail term for pleading guilty to weapon charges, appeared in an interview during the Super Bowl pre-game show which was aired last night. The interview was shot around last week in the New York prison where he is serving the jail sentence and was conducted by his former Pittsburgh Steelers coach Bill Cowher.

The interview that was aired last night managed to grab immense attention as it showcased the 32 year old former New York Giants player expressing his deep apologies for the damage that he caused to the organization following his self inflicted injury in the year 2008. In the interview, Plaxico Burress also emphasized that he personally wrote to John Mara, the president and the CEO of the team and at the same time also wrote a letter to vice president Steve Tisch, expressing his heartfelt apologies for the negative publicity that the organization had to endure because of his actions.

Moreover, Plaxico Burress also reiterated that he was really looking forward to making a comeback following his release from the prison in June, 2011. The much acclaimed wide receiver also revealed that he was utilizing his time in the prison by keeping in shape as he intended to return to the game soon after his release.

Following the shooting incident, the player got involved in a tussle with his team New York Giants by appealing against the team’s decision to terminate him and withdraw his signing bonus. However, in the interview the player said he was extremely sorry for tarnishing the image of the reputed organization back then.
