best10Nov. 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Jahvid Best, the star tailback of California Bears, was released from hospital on Sunday. He had been admitted to the hospital after he suffered an extensive head injury following a horrific fall in the match against Oregon State Beavers. The authority said that he had suffered a concussion and though he had more or less recovered from it, it would be a better idea to let him rest for a while before he went back to playing again.

Best had a terrifying fall in the game against Oregon State. He was running for a seven yard touchdown towards the left corner of the field’s end zone. In his attempt to score, he leaped over Tim Clark, the Oregon State corner-back. OS’s Cameron Collins came and hit Best on the side. Best lost his balance and fell at least five feet thorough the air before landing on his back on the ground. His back hit the ground first and then his head. His helmet unclasped and fell off as he fell on the ground and his neck snapped back. As the other players crowded around him, he lost consciousness. His jersey was removed and he was fitted with an oxygen mask. He was then carried off the field by the paramedics.

The authority in the hospital said that he had suffered a severe concussion and that he was under observation. On Sunday, he was released, as his reports and CT scans and X-rays all returned to normal. The California team announced that he would not be playing in the next match at least, against No. 18 Arizona.
