jahvidNov. 8, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Saturday’s game turned quite ugly for California’s tailback, Jahvid Best as well as most people who were present in the venue to witness the game. Due to a head-on collision that occurred on the field between Best and Oregon State’s defender Cameron Collins, the match had to be delayed for a good 13 minutes, while Best was provided oxygen on field and carried away.

The collision took place just 6:07 minutes prior to the half-time, when Best was headed for a touch down and was met in the way by the defender from Oregon State. Seeing that he would be intercepted by Collins, Best had leapt vertically in the air. In that heart stopping moment however, he fell back on the ground and hit his head hard. Due to the immense impact of the fall, Best’s helmet flew off, which would have otherwise provided some sort of a cushion for his head, after the landing.

In the ensuing moments, he was rushed to the hospital and provided with oxygen. Speaking on the condition of Best, the team’s spokesperson has stated that the star player has suffered a concussion and more tests reports were underway, to monitor his condition. There seems to be good news in the fact that he has not suffered any sort of damage to his spine.

The medical experts are going to keep a close tab on him till they can be sure that he is completely fit and only then they will be signing on his release. Till now there has not been any update available to imply just how long he will have to remain in the hospital.
