Jahvid Best Goes From Bears To Lions

Apr 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Jahvid Best has been chosen as the 30th draft round pick by the Detroit Lions. He was chosen on Thursday, in the first round of the draft pick itself. Needless to say, he had been one of the most sought after players in the draft, considering that the running back is one of the best that has ever been produced by the Californian Universities. Of course, while the Detroit Lions stand to benefit hugely from his pick, the Bears are all the more to suffer, for it is nor very likely that they would be finding an easy replacement to Jahvid Best.
The pick of the Detroit Lions came as somewhat of a surprise, considering that they had not let out any inkling of their interest in Jahvid Best. They had not even been in the position to make the trade. They had been in the 34th position, and had moved up to the 30th to strike the deal with the running back. Naturally, the call from the Lions also caught Jahvid Best off guard, as he had not been expecting them. He commented later on that he had no idea that he would get picked up by the team, and expressed his feelings of being absolutely thrilled.
The Bears, on the other hand, stand to lose much from the trade, given that they would be hard put to find a replacement of the veteran. It is being speculated that they would be substituting Jahvid Best with Shane Vereen. That way, they might be in a still better position, although it is likely that the loss of Jahvid Best is going to be a hard one to recover from.
