Jacksonville, Nov 29 (THAINDIAN NEWS) It was always coming as the Jacksonville Jaguars made a disastrous start to the season. The football club is expected to announce on Tuesday that they have fired their coach Jack Del Rey. This was Del Rio’s ninth season with the team.

Managing only three wins in their first 11 games, the patience of the club officials seemed to have run out for Del Ray. Before the start of the season, Del Rio was made aware that the security of his job depends on his performance this season.

Owner Wayne Weaver warned that of the Jaguars fail to make it to the playoffs, Del Rio should consider his job gone. Last weekend’s 20-13 loss to Houston completely eliminated the team from the playoffs.

A source told Channel 4 Sports that, “In the locker room after the game on Sunday, I didn’t get the feeling there was a lot of support of Jack among the players. And I’ve felt here in the last couple of years that there has been less support from the assistant coaches. And once that happens, the owner, Wayne Weaver, has got to make a move.”

The club is expected to organize a press conference on Tuesday afternoon and announced the exit of Del Rio. He was the second coach of the club in 17 years. Del Rio replaced Tom Coughlin in 2003 and defensive coordinator Mel Tucker is expected to be named as the caretaker coach.
