London, Dec 19(ANI): Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Mick McCarthy has hit back at his Arsenal counterpart Arsene Wenger for questioning his integrity and honesty.

Wenger had blasted McCarthy for handing arch-rivals Manchester United a win on a platter, after making 10 changes for Tuesday’s 3-0 defeat at Old Trafford. He was also accused of damaging the integrity of the Premier League.

“I have to say that as for some of the people who have been judging me and making comments about integrity and honesty - wait while I fall off my chair! I’ve more integrity and honesty in my little finger than most of them that are accusing me. Whoever it is, I’m not bothered,” The Sun quoted McCarthy, as saying.

“It’s laughable. I’ve had lots of messages of support because of some of the ridiculous, scathing, outrageous comments that have been made about me and what I did,” he added.

When told that he may face a Premier League rap for the changes that he made, the 50-year-old said: “I go through the season and I complain not one jot about anybody. I try my best not to get involved in anyone else’s politics or football club or anything like that and I am not going to get involved.”

“I’m cool with being asked and I will explain it. I’ll be happy to travel down and speak to anyone,” he added.

McCarthy had named a second-string side for the trip to Old Trafford, claiming that his entire team needed freshening up after their win over Tottenham Hotspur. (ANI)
