It’s all over for Indian juniors in Australian Open
January 26th, 2010 - 7:09 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Melbourne, Jan 26 (IANS) India’s challenge is over in the juniors section with Rishika Sunkara going down tamely to third-seeded Russian Daria Gavrilova in Australian Open tennis girls’ singles here Tuesday.
Rishika, who came through the qualifiers to be in the main draw, lost 0-6, 2-6 in the second round.
She bowed out of the doubles first round with her Japanese partner Yuki Ito Monday.
Vaidik Munshaw had already crashed out in the first round of the boys’ singles and doubles.
Rishika and Munshaw were the only two juniors representing India here.
