‘Iron’ Mike Tyson says he ‘only did cameo in The Hangover for drug money’
August 3rd, 2010 - 12:31 pm ICT by ANINew York, Aug 3(ANI): American boxing legend Mike Tyson has admitted that he had agreed to do a cameo in the 2009 comedy “The Hangover” only to finance his addiction.
“I was doing that to supply my drug habit,” The New York Daily News quoted Tyson, as having told an ESPN radio show.
Tyson said that he had no idea the movie would be a huge box office success, though he always planned to make a profit from it.
“I thought this was going to be really good, we’re going to sell this stuff at 42nd St. on bootleg, and we’re going to get a lot of money. This is my best thinking on drugs,” he added.
The 44-year-old had earlier said that the film had helped turn his life around, as the job offer and fun he had on the set convinced him to clean up his act.
Directed by Todd Phillips, the film also stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Heather Graham, Justin Bartha and Jeffrey Tambor.
It was made on a budget of 35 million dollars, and went onto make 467 million dollars worldwide. (ANI)
