July 29, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Sometimes even speechless innocent creatures might develop enemies overseas. Paul, the ‘psychic’ octopus, who got renowned across the world for his correct prediction of the winner of FIFA world Cup 2010, can now boast of having Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in his list of enemies. During his recent weekend speech in Tehran, the Iranian President made multiple references to Paul. He called Paul an agent of “western propaganda and superstition”. Media sources reported that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad described Paul as a symbol of all that is wrong about the Western world.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad during his speech said that all those people and nations who believe in such kind of things like Paul “cannot be the leaders of the global nations”. He called Iran a global nation that aspires to human perfection and added that a global nation should base themselves in the love of all “sacred values”. The comments although have not given rise to any political controversy, it has enraged millions of Paul fans over the globe who have taken the matter to the web world. Many blogger and netizens have already started satirizing the comments of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

However, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is not the only person who is not allowing the clever cephalopod to rest in peace after his hectic soccer world cup schedule. Following the prediction of Paul, a Chinese director has made a comic suspense film on Paul that is on its post production stage reportedly. A hit YouTube song surrounding Paul is also on its verge of going viral on web. Apart from these, Paul has acquired a star status in his own country and in Spain.
