IPL players to reassess security: ICC officialMarch 4th, 2009 - 12:11 am ICT by IANS
London, March 3 (IANS) High-profile international cricket players and their administrators will reassess security in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the light of Tuesday’s terrorist attack on Sri Lankan players in Pakistan, a senior official said.
Because IPL is classed as a domestic event rather than an international tournament, the International Cricket Council (ICC) was powerless to intervene, its Chief Executive Haroon Logat told reporters here.
“IPL is a domestic event of the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India). I have no doubt that all of those players (playing in it) as well as the member-boards to which they belong will reassess the situation,” Logat added.
