IPL drawing foreign tourists too
May 1st, 2011 - 3:49 am ICT by IANSKolkata, April 30 (IANS) The Indian Premier League (IPL) is drawing not only the Indian fans and foreign cricketers, but foreign tourists too.
Jonathan Astle and his wife Martha, British tourists, made their way to the Eden Gardens Saturday to watch the IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Kings XI Punjab.
“We have heard a lot about IPL. We have been touring India and we find the country incredible,” Jonathan said.
“We have also heard about Eden Gardens. So we decided to take some time off from our site seeing programme and came to the ground,” Martha said before entering the ground.
“IPL is a great fun and we hope to enjoy every moment,” she added.
Apart from the Astle couple, several other foreigners were seen in the queue to enter the stadium. Some of them sported KKR jersey.
