Lahore, Jan 9 (ANI): Coming out in support of Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh, former Pakistan cricket captain Inzamamul Haq has said that Asian players have always been mistreated and punished with heavy bans.
“The Asian players are facing curse of racism for the last many years. In fact they are treated very harshly whenever there is a row between them and the Australians,” the Daily Times quoted him, as saying.
“I have played a large part of my cricket against the Aussies. Sometimes, they said some nasty stuff, sometimes we did, and then, we moved on. We did not behave like cry-babies and drag it to the officials. They do it constantly, and much more than anyone else. So, how they can go out and complain about other teams?” questioned Inzamam.
Hailing the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) step to take the matter to International Cricket Council (ICC), he said, ” They have taken the right step by lodging their protest with the ICC and suspending the tour.” (ANI)
