insight-bowlArizona, Jan. 01, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The last day of the year 2009 did not go in favor of the Minnesota Golden Gophers as they lost the game to Iowa State Cyclones in spite of exhibiting a good performance. The Minnesota Golden Gophers and the Iowa State Cyclones met for the Insight Bowl game on yesterday night and it has been extremely disappointing for them to lose the pulse racing match against the Iowa team and that too by a mere one point. The game ended with Iowa clinching the victory with a score of 14-13 to their favor.

The hopes of the Minnesota Golden Gophers to win the Insight Bowl was shattered by Alexander Robinson, the running back of the Iowa State team. He made a tremendous rush in the game and scored 137 rush yards as he led his team to victory. The addition of 26 yard reception by the player dominated the Golden Gophers and they won the match by one point. There were several praiseworthy performances by the Iowa State Cyclones in the game. Austen Arnaud, who plays in the quarterback position was found having a great game on the field. His 76 yards rush and 216 yards throw along with four turnovers in the game has been praised appreciated by people.

Though the Iowa team cherished their win, the locker room of the Minnesota team was overloaded with ‘heart-broken’ players. No wonder, the one point loss to Iowa has literally poised as a setback for the team. Their coach Tim Brewster said it was a tough loss for the team, who gave their best to win the game.
