Injury scare for Ishant, Praveen ahead of third Test
July 5th, 2011 - 6:12 pm ICT by IANSRosseau (Dominica), July 5 (IANS) India’s medium pacers Ishant Sharma and Praveen Kumar received injuries ahead of the third cricket Test against the West Indies starting here Wednesday.
The two players injured themselves while playing football during a practice session at Windsor Park here Monday evening. During the game, Praveen Kumar accidentally head-butted the left cheekbone of Ishant.
Senior player Rahul Dravid said that Ishant suffered a light cut under his eye but he was available.
“Ishant has just a small bruise. A little bit of cut. He should be fine,” he said.
Ishant has picked up 16 wickets from the series so far, including a 10-wicket haul in the Barbados Test.
