Injured Tevez likely miss FA Cup semi-final
April 12th, 2011 - 3:05 pm ICT by ANILondon, Apr 12(ANI): Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has said that captain Carlos Tevez is likely to miss Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United due to a hamstring injury.
Tevez pulled up, clutching his leg, only 15 minutes into his side’s 3-0 Premier League defeat at Liverpool on Monday and was immediately substituted.
“It is his hamstring and I think it will be very difficult for him to make Saturday. I don’t think he will play,” the Sun quoted Mancini, as saying.
Mancini further admitted that he is desperate not to lose the club’s top scorer for too long.
“We have only five days so it’s very difficult for Saturday, but I think that in two weeks he can return,” he said.
Tevez has scored 22 goals in 40 appearances this season, and has been instrumental in City’s push for a Champions League spot. (ANI)
