- Mohali, Nov 3(ANI): Injury-plagued Australian team suffered another blow on Tuesday, as fast bowler Peter Siddle was ruled out of the rest of India-Australia ODI series.
Siddle was diagnosed with a side strain following the fourth ODI at Mohali on Monday, which Australia won by 24 runs to tie the seven game series.
“Cricket Australia today confirmed fast bowler Peter Siddle will return from Australia’s Tour of India after experiencing some left side stiffness during last night’s victory over India in the fourth ODI at Mohali,” Cricket Australia said in a statement.
Though the injury is minor, the CA has decided to give him rest, as they did not want to augment the injury further.
Siddle is the fourth Australian player to return, after injuries to fast bowler Brett Lee, all-rounder James Hopes and wicketkeeper Time Paine forced them to head home.
The fifth game of the series will be held in Hyderabad on November 5. (ANI)
