Injured Dementieva pulls out of Wimbledon
June 15th, 2010 - 8:48 pm ICT by IANSLondon, June 15 (DPA) The calf injury that forced Elena Dementieva to quit her French Open semi-final against Francesca Schiavone will keep the Russian from Wimbledon.
World number five Dementieva said Tuesday on her website that she will not take part in the grass Grand Slam starting Monday.
Among others missing the event to injury are men’s US Open champion Juan Del Potro, German-turned-American Tommy Haas and Chile’s Fernando Gonzalez.
