Indoor Asian Games: India to participate in Vovinam
October 21st, 2009 - 7:40 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, Oct 21 (IANS) A seven-member Indian team for Vovinam, a martial art from Vietnam, will take part in the third Indoor Asian Games from Oct 30 at Hanoi.
The team left Tuesday in order to get proper time to train at Ho Chi Minh City, which is the headquarter of the sport.
The team was selected after assessment of their performance of the Pre-Asian Indoor Games where they won four gold, two silver and four bronze medals, said Praveen Garg, secretary of Vovinam Association of India.
Team: Rahul Kumar, Haobijam Kanta Singh, Chongthem Mahadeva Singh, Shashank Bajrang Kathade, Devarao Shankarrao Kapse, Pratiksha Santosh Shinde, Akanksha Sahai.
