Mohali, Mar 28 (ANI): Chandigarh Police on Monday baton charged a crowd of fans, who were protesting against the black marketing of tickets for the 2011 World Cup semifinal clash between India and Pakistan, outside Mohali’s Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) stadium.

Police lathicharged them to get them out of the periphery of the stadium, as the area is out of bounds for the public due to tight security for the match.

According to reports, the fans are queued up outside the stadium to purchase tickets for Wednesday’s semi final encounter. The Punjab Cricket Association, however, maintains that all the tickets are already sold out.

The Punjab Cricket Association stadium here can accommodate a total of 28,000 spectators, out of which about 15,000 are reserved for general public. (ANI)
