India’s Varsha Vinod, 5, is the ultimate karate kid, says UK champ
October 3rd, 2009 - 12:43 pm ICT by ANILondon, October 3 (ANI): Five-year-old Indian girl Varsha Vinod, who is the world’s youngest black belt, has been branded the “ultimate karate kid” by British karate champion Juan Moreno, 31 years her senior.
Moreno, expected to represent Britain in the European Championships next year, showered Varsha with praise after a match with her in London.
Though the match was not for real, it proved stunning for Moreno to see just how good Varsha was.
“She is the ultimate karate kid. It’s hard to remember she is just five, her skills and concentration are amazing,” Times Online quoted him as saying.
Varsha, a student at the academy of martial arts in Alappuzha, trains for two and a half hours a day. (ANI)
