India’s fielding shocks Dhoni

Mohali (Punjab), Dec 12 (IANS) India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni couldn’t believe that his boys dropped as many as five catches during the second Twenty20 international against Sri Lanka at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium here Saturday.
Still, India won the match by six wickets and five balls to spare and levelled the two-match series 1-1.
“I have never seen a team dropping so many catches. But there was something funny going around, something fishy. Sri Lanka also missed so many run-outs. We have to improve our bowling, apart from fielding. Not only in T20s, but also in ODIs,” said Dhoni, who hit 46 in 28 balls.
For Man of the Match Yuvraj Singh, who hit an unbeaten 60 and also picked up three for 23, the win was the perfect birthday gift.
“Things couldn’t have been better on my birthday. Winning the match, entertaining the crowd, hitting big sixes. I thought I would hit everything straight, when the field comes straight, go square. I think this is my best innings at my home ground,” he said.
Sri Lanka skipper Kumar Sangakkara also rued the missed chances.
“We had quite a few chances. But then again, those catches and run-outs really matter in the end. We had our chances, but we didn’t take them. India played really well too,” he said.
