Indianapolis head to the Super Bowl after AFC Championship win
January 25th, 2010 - 10:41 am ICT by BNO News ( Leave a comment )INDIANAPOLIS (BNO NEWS) — The Indianapolis Colts defeated the New York Jets to claim the AFC Championship on Sunday, and therefore advancing to the Super Bowl.
Peyton Manning threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Dallas Clark with just under nine minutes remaining to give the Colts a 27-17 lead. Matt Stover then kicked a 21-yard field goal to push the lead to 13 points.
Two minutes before the end of the game, Kelvin Hayden intercepted a tipped pass by New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez. The game ended in a 30-17 victory for the Colts, claiming the AFC Championship and advancing to the Super Bowl.
It’s the second time the Colts are heading to the Super Bowl in just four years.
