Indian Premier League threat to Australia’s tour of Bangladesh
November 12th, 2010 - 12:30 pm ICT by ANISydney, Nov 12(ANI): Cricket Australia is likely to reschedule its tour of Bangladesh in April 2011 to avoid a clash with the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The scheduled tour includes a two-match Test series and a three-match ODI series.
According to the Fox Sports, it is yet another sign of Twenty20 cricket’s growing influence over the traditional forms of the game.
Australian cricketers are listed to travel to Bangladesh for the series after the World Cup final in Mumbai on April 2.
Australian players who are part of the Indian Twenty20 tournament include Michael Hussey, Doug Bollinger, Cameron White, Shane Watson, David Hussey and David Warner. Bangladesh publicly claims that it wants Australia to tour next year, but also has several players in the IPL. (ANI)
