Indian challenge ends in German Open badminton

New Delhi, Feb 28 (IANS) The Indian challenge in the Yonex German Open badminton came to an end with Chetan Anand bowing out in the quarterfinal against China’s Weijie Gong.
Anand, seeded second, won the first game but then lost steam to go down 21-19, 19-21, 12-21 Friday.

In the mixed doubles, the fourth-seeded Indian pair of Jwala Gutta and Diju Valiyaveetil proved no match against China’s Bo Zheng and Jin Ma, bowing out 17-21, 12-21 in the quarterfinals.
