Indian campaign over in French Open Super Series
October 27th, 2011 - 9:44 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Oct 27 (IANS) India’s Saina Nehwal fought hard but could not go past China’s Xuerui Li, bowing out of the second round of the French Open Super Series badminton in Paris.
Saina, seeded fourth, lost 18-21, 29-30 in a match Thursday lasting 48 minutes.
India’s campaign in the tournament got over with Ajay Jayaram losing in the men’s singles and Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa in the women’s doubles.
Jayaram lost 19-21, 14-21 to sixth-seed Chinese Jin Chen in 46 minutes.
In the women’s doubles, Jwala and Ashwini lost to sixth-seeded South Koreans Jung Eun Ha and Min Jung Kim 13-21, 12-21.
