Chittagong, Jan 17 (IANS) Bangladesh bowlers rocked the Indian top order to leave them reeling at 160 for six at tea on the first day of the first cricket Test here Sunday.
India, after being sent in to bat, were batting steadily at 63 for no loss at lunch, but then lost six wickets in the second session, scoring only 97 runs.

Sachin Tendulkar was batting on 50 while Amit Mishra was on 5 when the players broke for tea.

Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan and Shahadat Hossain took three wickets apiece.

Sehwag (52) and Gautam Gambhir (23) gave India a good start but fell in the space of three balls.

Sehwag reached the half-century off 45 balls, the fastest fifty by an Indian against Bangladesh.

Sehwag was caught by Tamim Iqbal at short extra cover off Shakib Al Hasan. Two balls later, Gambhir edged a Shahadat delivery and Mushfiqur Rahim made no mistake behind the stumps.

Rahul Dravid (4) followed soon after and India were left struggling at 85 for three.

VVS Laxman (7) didn’t survive long — he was stumped by wicket-keeper Mushfiqur off Shakib.

Tendulkar reached his 55th half-century in Tests to keep India’s hopes alive. When on 30, Tendulkar surpassed 13,000 Test runs.

Tendulkar survived a chance on 16 on a Shafiul Islam delivery but Imrul Kayes couldn’t hold on to the catch at first slip.

Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh (12) added 42 runs before the latter hit straight to Rubel Hossain at mid-on off Shakib.

Shahadat then dismissed Dinesh Karthik, who was out without opening his account.
