India to change batting order: DhoniDecember 18th, 2008 - 4:50 pm ICT by IANS
Mohali, Dec 18 (IANS) Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has said the batting order will be reshuffled in the second Test against England starting Friday, an indication that out-of-form Rahul Dravid may drop down from his customary number three position.”We are thinking of making some changes in the batting order. We have not yet decided about these,” Dhoni told reporters at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) stadium here Wednesday.
Dhoni, though, defended Dravid, saying that he would soon recover his form.
After comfortably chasing 387 in the Chennai Test, Dhoni said his team was confident going into the second Test.
“We will take it session by session. We don’t have a long-term plan. Every game is a new game. Just because we beat Australia here (in October) does not mean we are sure to win every time,” he said.
Dhoni said his side would go for a win but would not mind to draw the Test and win the series.
He said the Indian team did not do well in the first three days of the Chennai Test.
“It was Sehwag’s batting that helped us on the fourth day,” Dhoni said.
